ME //

Hi! I'm Jennie!

Welcome to my corner of the internet I created for all of the weird c̶r̶a̶p̶ projects I’m currently working on! I decided to dump all of the contents of my brain onto one big site. (This is the site). It's a space for me to log literally every creative thing I've been itching to express. Primarily so I don't annoy every single person I know.

WHO I AM:

I’m an actor, comedian, writer, copy editor, photoshop novice, vegan, celebrity obsessed, tv show junkie, eating disorder survivor, chronically ill (yay, Lupus!), chronically awesome person whose life toppled upside down a few years ago! (yay, Lupus!) Now I'm following every weird whim I come up with in hopes one of them will lead to a writing and/or acting job. Wanna hire me?! I'm a delight to work with.

COMEDY:

These places have all of my $: UCBT, LA; iO West (RIP), and Second City. I've taken classes in Improv (long form/short form/musical), Sketch (writing/performing), late night talk show writing, and writing satire for the internet. I've also taken one million non-comedy focused acting and writing classes, but that info's neither here nor there. Since moving to LA, I’ve performed in many shows throughout the city, including 5 years as a house sketch performer at iO West (RIP). Then I was hit with Lupus (yay, Lupus!), everything screeched to a halt, and now here I am!

Wanna know why i moved to la?:

I’ve always been drawn to comedy, I think comedy finds the people who are supposed to do it, but I can tell you specifically why I chose to do it in LA. In 2006, I was in NYC visiting a friend the weekend before I was heading to Connecticut to begin rehearsals for a national kids tour show I did. I was obsessed with SNL and any and every stage door I could access, so I made my friend stand in the freezing cold to watch the cast come out that Saturday night. Andy Samberg was pretty new, so I didn’t really know him that well, but this girl standing next to me had made a bunch of unicorn stuff to give him. I asked her how she knew who he was and she said “UCB.” When I asked her what that was, with a disgusted look on her face she said to me, “Don’t worry about it.” Well that’s all it took for me to start worrying about it. I researched UCB and realized it was co-founded by Amy Poehler and all of my favorite sketch comedians performed there. I immediately knew this was where I had to study. The theater had two locations — LA and NY. I don’t like crowds of strangers, so LA it was! And it was the best decision I’ve ever made. I really want to thank that creepy Andy Samberg stalker. Wherever you are, I hope one day you’ll know how much your bitchy words changed my life.
